Questions
Can you really learn piano with an app?
Yes, for the first one to two years of playing, a good app covers what a beginner needs: note reading, rhythm, both hands together and a steady stream of pieces at the right level. An app is weaker at correcting posture and hand shape, so an occasional lesson with a teacher is a good addition if you want feedback in person.
Do I need a piano?
You need a keyboard with full-size keys. A 61-key keyboard is enough to start; an 88-key digital piano with weighted keys is ideal. Acoustic pianos work too. The app listens through your device's microphone, or connects by USB or Bluetooth MIDI.
How long until I can play a song?
Most beginners play a simple melody with one hand in their first session and a short piece with both hands within two to four weeks of practicing about 10 to 15 minutes a day.
How much does it cost?
$119.99 per year (about $10.00 a month) after a 7-day free trial, or $19.99 per month with no trial. A family plan for up to 4 learners is $179.99 per year.
How do I cancel?
Open the Account page, sign in with your email (we send a one-time code) and press Cancel. There is no phone call and no chat bot. If you cancel during the free trial you are never charged, and you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of your first payment.
